The My(ne)stery of Matter

The My(ne)stery of Matter is a mobile recycling lab, founded within the LAUDS Factories program and supported by Maker, that brings textile transformation directly into communities. Through workshops, events, and open-source tools, it turns discarded textiles into new materials and objects while raising awareness of circular practices.

In this collaboration, HILO team provided the technological foundation — developing and documenting open-source machines, material recipes, and workshop formats. Working closely with Prien, HILO ensured that the project combined design, art direction, and community engagement with practical, replicable recycling processes. Together, the teams created an accessible platform where citizens, schools, and cultural spaces can actively learn, experiment, and co-create sustainable futures.
